What data is processed
Messages you send through the chat. When you open the chat widget and write to us, we receive the content of your messages and any details you choose to type into it, such as a name or a phone number. You decide what you share. Please avoid sending passwords, full device codes or payment details unless we specifically need them to help you.
Technical data used by the chat. To work, the chat widget processes technical data such as your IP address. It may use it to suggest your country’s dialing code when you type a phone number. This is a convenience; you can change the suggestion.
Audience measurement, only if you accept. If audience measurement is enabled on the site, it runs only after you agree in the consent banner. It produces aggregate statistics, such as which guides are read most, and is used to improve the content. If you decline, it does not run.
Preferences stored in your browser. The site remembers a few choices in your own browser, such as the light or dark theme and your consent choice. These stay on your device and are not sent to us.
Why we process it
We use your data for clearly limited purposes:
- answering your questions and following up on the conversation you started;
- keeping the chat working and protecting it against abuse;
- understanding, in aggregate and only with your consent, which pages are useful so we can improve them;
- remembering your display and consent preferences.
We do not sell your data, and we do not use your messages for advertising.
How long we keep it
Chat conversations are kept for as long as needed to answer you and handle any follow-up, then deleted or anonymized within a reasonable period. Aggregate audience statistics do not identify you. Preferences stored in your browser remain until you clear your browser data or change the setting.
Who can access it
Your messages are read by the people who answer the chat. The chat widget and, where enabled, the audience measurement tool are provided by technical service providers who process the data on our behalf and only for the purposes above. We do not share your data with app publishers or any other third party for their own purposes.
Your rights and how to use them
You can ask to access the data we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted. You can also withdraw your consent to audience measurement at any time from the consent settings on the site. To make a request, write to us through the chat or see our contact page. We may ask a simple question to confirm that the conversation is yours before acting on the request.
Who is responsible for your data
The publisher responsible for the data collected on the English ibplayer.store guides is identified in our legal notice. For any request about your data, write to us in the chat or through the contact page. Orders placed on a country version are covered by that version’s own privacy policy.
Why we are allowed to use your data
The guides use your information only on these grounds: your request, when you ask a question in the chat; our legitimate interests, for the security of the website and chat and the hosting provider’s technical logs; and your consent, for audience measurement, only if it is switched on and you accept it.
Service providers, transfers and complaints
The providers actually used by the guides are listed in the “Service providers and recipients of data” box at the top of this page. The website is hosted by a company based in the United States and the chat is supplied by a specialist provider, so some data may be processed outside your country, under the contractual safeguards those providers offer. What the guides store in your browser is described in our cookie policy. If you believe your rights are not respected after contacting us, you can complain to the data protection authority of your country.
Changes to this policy
If we change how data is processed, we will update this page and the date shown on it. Significant changes will be made visible on the site.
