Privacy policy for our UK site

This page explains, in plain English, what information we process when you use our UK site and chat, why we need it, how long we keep it and how you can ask us to see, correct or delete it. We collect as little as possible and never sell your data. If anything here is unclear, ask us in the chat.

Service providers and recipients of data

Based on the services the website actually uses. Each one receives only the data it needs for its task.

    Where it is processed: United States

  • Chat service (capm.ma)

    Conversation, ordering and support

    Data: Name or nickname, phone number if you give it, messages and files you send, IP address

    Where it is processed: Depends on the chat provider

  • PayPal

    Payment by PayPal (PayPal acts as an independent controller)

    Data: Identity and payment details you enter with PayPal, order amount and reference

    Where it is processed: Under PayPal’s own terms

  • Banks

    Processing the bank transfer

    Data: Account holder name, amount, date and transfer reference

    Where it is processed: Your bank and ours

What data we process

We only process information that is needed to run the site, answer you and deliver your subscription. In practice, that falls into four groups.

Chat messages and contact details. When you use the chat, we receive the messages you write, any images you choose to send (for example a photo of your TV screen) and the name and phone number you type into the chat widget. We use these to answer your questions, process your order, send your login details and help you afterwards.

Order information. For each order we keep the plan you chose, its start and end dates, the login details issued and the confirmation of your bank transfer or PayPal payment (we never see or store card numbers), so we can support you and handle renewals.

Device identifiers for app activation. If your plan includes IBO Player activation, or you order our separate app activation service, we ask for the identifiers your app displays, such as its MAC address (Device ID). We use them only to activate that app for you on its publisher’s site.

Technical data. Like any website, our servers receive technical information such as your IP address, browser type and the pages requested. The chat also uses your IP address to suggest the likely country code for your phone number, which saves you typing it.

Preferences stored in your browser. Some choices, such as light or dark theme and your answer to the cookie and measurement banner, are saved in your own browser so the site remembers them. They stay on your device and are not sent to us.

Optional audience measurement

If, and only if, you accept it in the consent banner, we use anonymous audience measurement to understand which pages are useful and where visitors get stuck. This tells us things like how many people visit a page, not who you are. If you decline, no such measurement is loaded, and the site works in exactly the same way. You can change your choice at any time by clearing the preference in your browser.

Why we use your data

We use the information above for the following purposes only:

  • answering questions you send in the chat, before or after an order;
  • processing and confirming your order, and delivering your login details;
  • activating your player app when your plan or order includes it;
  • providing support and handling renewals when you ask for them;
  • keeping the site and chat secure and working properly, including preventing abuse;
  • improving the site, where you have accepted audience measurement.

We do not sell your data, rent it to anyone or use it for unrelated advertising. We do not send marketing messages unless you have asked us to keep you informed.

How long we keep it

We keep chat conversations and order information for as long as your subscription is active and for a reasonable period afterwards, so we can help with renewals, questions about past orders or any dispute. Technical logs are kept for a short period for security purposes and then deleted. Data that is no longer needed is deleted or made anonymous.

Who can see it

Your information is accessible only to the people who handle orders and support, and to technical service providers who host the site and chat on our behalf. Those providers may only use it to provide their service to us. When we activate an app for you, the device identifiers needed for that activation are entered on the app publisher’s site, and nothing more. We do not share your data with app publishers, broadcasters or other third parties for their own purposes. Payments go through your bank or PayPal, which process them under their own policies.

Your rights

You can ask at any time to:

  • see the information we hold about you;
  • correct anything that is inaccurate;
  • delete your conversation history and personal details, once any active subscription has ended or if you no longer want it;
  • object to a particular use of your data.

To make a request, message us in the chat or through the contact page. We may ask a question or two to confirm that the request really comes from you, so that nobody else can obtain your details.

Keeping your information safe

We take reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your data. You can help too: keep your login details private, never send card details or passwords to other accounts in the chat, and be cautious of anyone contacting you while claiming to be us outside the site.

Who is responsible for your data

The business responsible for the data collected on the UK version of ibplayer.store is the website operator identified in our legal notice. It decides why and how your information is used. For any request about your data, write to us in the chat or through the contact page; where a dedicated email address exists, it is also shown in the legal notice.

Why we are allowed to use your data

Each use of your information by the UK version of ibplayer.store rests on a specific ground:

  • performing your order: handling the order and payment, delivering your login, activation and after-sales support, as set out in our terms;
  • your request before ordering: answering your questions in the chat before you buy;
  • our legitimate interests: security of the website and chat, preventing abuse, the hosting provider’s technical logs, and keeping a record of conversations in case of a complaint;
  • your consent: audience measurement, only if it is switched on and you accept it;
  • our accounting obligations: keeping payment and invoicing records for the period required.

Service providers and transfers

The providers actually used by the UK version of ibplayer.store are listed in the “Service providers and recipients of data” box at the top of this page, together with the data each one receives. The website is hosted by a company based in the United States and the chat is supplied by a specialist provider. Some data may therefore be processed outside the UK. These transfers rely on the contractual safeguards provided by those providers, and each one receives only what it needs for its task. What the website stores in your browser is described in our cookie policy.

Complaints to a regulator

If, after contacting us, you believe the UK version of ibplayer.store is not respecting your rights over your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO). We encourage you to write to us first: most requests are settled quickly in the chat.

Children

The subscriptions sold on the UK version of ibplayer.store are for adults only. We do not knowingly collect information about children; if you believe a child has sent us information, tell us through the contact page so that we can delete it.

Changes to this policy

We may update this page when the site or our services change. The date at the top shows the latest version. If a change is significant, we will make it clear on the site. For the conditions that apply to your subscription, see our terms and disclaimer.
